Soon, Christine Cadette, Dez Yusef, Braxton Marcellous and Satchel Brown joined and the group released its first EP in Oct. 2019. It was called Our Day Will Come.
The band played its first live performance the following year and dropped another EP, My People… Hold On. Their first album, A New Tomorrow, came out in Nov. 2022 with “Fakin’ tha Funk (You Get Did)” as its lead single. The band joined Speed on a European tour the next summer and scheduled a small North American tour with Soul Glo that fall.

This creates a unique, dark sound, that helps to spread their message of Black pride with samples of speeches by icons like Nina Simone and Malcolm X. In addition to the band’s original work, Zulu has collaborated with artists like King Isis, Obioma Ugonna of Playytime and Pierce Jordan of Soul Glo, and have covered well-known metal songs like “Wait and Bleed” by Slipknot.
