World’s Oldest Rodeo Show Tickets
Be a part of history with the World’s Oldest Rodeo tickets from TicketSmarter. The World’s Oldest Rodeo was first founded in 1888 in Prescott, Ariz. Locals in Prescott decided to start a type of tournament for cowboys, and the Prescott Rodeo, a.k.a World’s Oldest Rodeo, was born. The first winner of the World’s Oldest Rodeo was a cowboy by the name of Juan Leivas. Rodeos have since spread across the United States as well as across the world.
Throughout the years, Prescott Rodeo has gone through changes, but it has always stayed open. While other rodeos were shutting down during the Great Depression, the World’s Oldest Rodeo persevered and never shut down. In 1985, the rodeo reached out to the U.S. Patent Office and was able to get the title of World’s Oldest Rodeo. The rodeo is run by Prescott Frontier Days, Inc. and several hundred volunteers, especially during the holidays. Prescott Frontier Days, Inc. uses all the profit from the World’s Oldest Rodeo tickets to give back to the community as well as local food banks. World’s Oldest Rodeo is a piece of history still in the making, and it is a rodeo that is perfect for the whole family.
