The band’s current line-up includes Matt Dariau, who composes as well as plays alto saxophone, clarinet and kaval, a chromatic end-blown flute played in Anatolia and the Balkans, Frank London on trumpet and keyboard and Paul Morrissett, who plays bass and tsimbl cimbalom. Other members of the group include Lorin Skalmberg on piano and accordion, violinist and vocalist Lisa Glutkin and alternating drummers Richie Barshay and David Licht.

They appeared live at the Jenaer Philharmonie of Jena, Germany in 2003. Also, in Germany, they worked with the poet Allen Ginsberg in Berlin. They also have collaborated with artists from other countries like the Macedonian saxophonist “King” Ferus Mustafov, Israeli vocalists Chava Alberstein, Ehud Banay and others.

The Klezmatics have recorded several studio albums, the first being in 1989, Shvagn = toyt, under the Piranha music label. Its follow-up was Rhythm and Jews in 1999.
