The Fabulous Thunderbirds Concert Tickets
Come listen to the quintessential American sound of southern rock and blues with The Fabulous Thunderbirds tickets. Formed in 1974, The Fabulous Thunderbirds are an American band based in Austin, Texas that plays blues rock.
The band’s original lineup consisted of Kim Wilson on vocals and harmonica, John Melancon on bass and Mike Buck on drums. Stevie Ray Vaughan’s brother Jimmie played guitar. Keith Ferguson replaced Melancon in 1979.
The band played in the Austin music scene for several years before recording their first album, Girls Go Wild, which was released in 1979. This was followed by What’s the Word in 1980. Though these were small printings, with only 3,000 CDs printed at the time, they are now considered significant blues recordings.
In the first two CDS, the Thunderbirds mixed Texas blues with harmonica-laced swamp sounds reminiscent of Slim Harpo and Lazy Lester. Their third CDS’ sound was closer to old rhythm and blues, adding other instruments such as brass and piano.
Enjoy music that makes you dance and move with The Fabulous Thunderbird tickets. The band hit the mainstream when their song “Tuff Enuff” was featured in the movie Gung Ho in 1986. The film Tough Guys also featured the song, along with “Wrap It Up,” which made it to number 50 on the Hot 100 chart.
In February 2000, the group was the first band ever to be broadcast using high-definition cameras on the internet. The band has recorded more than ten studio albums and continues to tour and record.
