The band came together while Blasey and Minarik were attending the Indiana University of Pennsylvania and originally went under the name the Administration. After changing their name to The Clarks they released their debut album I’ll Tell You What Man... in 1988.

Unfortunate events would lead to their separation and The Clark’s breakthrough album Let It Go as they moved to Razor Tie. With the #21 spot on the Billboard Heatseekers Albums chart, The Clarks never looked back.
