They released 4 albums from their start through 2016, but when Nguyen came out as queer in 2020, she commented that her work up to that point had been more general and that their 2020 album, Temple, was more personal. In it, Nguyen addresses her Vietnamese background and upbringing and her queerness. It also includes the band’s first love song, Marrow, which closes out the album to both punctuate the album and to act as a new beginning to work that is more personal because of Nguyen’s ability to now be fully herself in her art.
