In 2006, Taj Mahal Quartet won the Blues Music Award with The Essential Taj Mahal for Historical Album of the Year. Then, in 2008, he released the album Maestro and received a Grammy Nomination for Best Contemporary Blues Album.
Taj Mahal Quarter was awarded their third Grammy Award for the Best Contemporary Blues Album after releasing the hit album TajMo.
