Zac Garren plays guitar, Ian Jennings is on bass and Ben Rosett is on drums. In addition to all three being producers, they are also multi-instrumentalists. The group name was inspired by the Siouxsie and the Banshees song Christine.
Zac Garren left Dance Gavin Dance, a post-hardcore band in February of 2010. He came across Ben Rosett, who had just left his group the Trees, and the two began to write and record music together under the band name Strawberry Girls. Trees drummer Ben Rosett joined them to complete the trio.
In October 2011 the trio released their debut EP Italian Ghosts as an independent. They then released a cover of Carla Rae Jepsen’s hit “Call me Maybe,” which had great reviews from The Air Space. In December of that same year, they also released a cover of the song “Swimming Pools (Drank)” by Kendrick Lamar.

The label Tragic Hero Records re-released the album on September 20, 2013, after Strawberry Girls was signed with them. The band toured as a supporting act with the headliner being Stolas.
American Graffiti was released on November 27, 2015. This album was ranked at No. 13 on Fecking Bahamas' list of the Top 20 Math Albums of 2015.
