He began his music career as a member of the indie rock band The French Kicks, which he co-founded in 1998. With The French Kicks, Weinman released four albums and toured internationally, playing shows across the United States, Europe and Asia.
In 2012, Weinman decided to pursue a solo career and released his debut album as Runnner, Thunderous Captain. The album received critical acclaim, earning Weinman a spot on Rolling Stone's list of 10 New Artists You Need to Know. Since then, Weinman has released three more albums as Runnner, including Horse Latitudes, The Middle and Notions.
In addition to his work as a musician, Weinman is also an accomplished producer and has worked with artists such as The Strokes, The Walkmen and The National. He has received numerous accolades for his work, including a Grammy Award for his production on The National's album Sleep Well Beast.
