In the late 2000s, Panagaris broke through to mainstream attention when she backed Michael Jackson during his This Is It concert series. Her 2007 album Believe contained the international success “According to You,” which was a number two hit on the US radio play chart, a number three hit in Japan and a number eight hit in Australia. Later that year, Panagaris was named one of Elle magazine’s 12 Greatest Female Guitarists. In 2010 she won Guitar International magazine’s Breakthrough Guitarist of the Year Award.
