The main problem that is presented is that Mr. Majority wants to sign a bill designed to shrink oceans so that they are easier to manage. Once the debate begins, the Ocean begins defending itself.
Highlighted in the performance is the intimate relationships humans have to the ocean and how societal systems are putting this precious resource in danger. Jennifer Kidwell takes on both roles and is joined by a choir who sings the urgent question regarding the importance of the Ocean to human existence. The premiere was held at the American Repertory Theater and began its tour in February of 2022.
