Born in San Francisco, Cressman’s parents were both established, jazz musicians. She fell in love with music at an early age watching her father perform with the touring band for Carlos Santana. As a teenager, Cressman performed in a slew of Brazilian and Afro Cuban jazz bands. 

At eighteen Cressman moved to New York City to study at the Manhattan School of Music under Wycliffe Gordon, Laurie Frink and Luis Bonilla. Shortly afterward she joined Trey Anastasio’s jazz band, then in the coming years performed regularly with the New York Hieroglyphics Ensemble and the Television Symphony Orchestra. She has also frequently performed as a featured soloist with her former teacher Wycliffe Gordon’s band Jazz a la Carte. Cressman is a fan favorite at the Bear Creek Music Festival, and regularly tours with the artists, Lettuce and Dumpstaphunk. Known for her extreme talent with the trombone, Cressman is a highly sought-after backing musician and jazz performer.
