It wasn't long before this young man's talents were noticed at parties around town where people would hire him to play their favorite tunes. By sixteen, he had already become a touring musician.
Hearne has traveled all across the southwest for the past few decades making beautiful music wherever he goes. In the 80s, he played with the Michael Martin Murphey band. He also wrote hit songs for Jerry Jeff Walker and Gary P. Nunn along with country music star Johnny Rodriguez among others. During these years he recorded many albums with his band South by Southwest along with writing and recording "New Mexico Rain," which was quickly a fan favorite. He played in his first Big Barn Dance Music Festival in 2003 and hasn't looked back since.
