She is best known for being a member of Prince’s New Power Generation. She also is known for being a member of the band Roadcase Royale with Nancy Wilson and other members of Heart.
Warfield grew up listening to gospel music. As her father was a Pentecostal deacon, she was not allowed to listen to secular music, and could only sing Whitney Houston when not around her parents. She went to college on a track scholarship at Portland State University. After falling in love with singing karaoke, Warfield dropped out of school to pursue singing as a career.

She became a member of Prince’s New Power Generation in 2009 after she sent an audition video to him of her singing “Gimme Shelter” by the rolling Stones. She toured with the band until 2014 with Prince as her mentor. He was an executive producer on her second solo album, The Unexpected, in 2014 and the NPG provided the horn section.
She met Nancy Wilson of Heart in 2015 after Wilson chose her as the opening act for a concert at the Hollywood Bowl. The two bonded and together formed Roadcase Royale in 2016. Their first album, First Things First, was released in 2017.
In the Soul Train Music Awards in 2014, she was nominated for Best New Artist and won the award for Best Contemporary Jazz Performance.
