Several years later, the Hawaiian star had a change of heart. He and a few other children were thrust onstage to perform with his father’s band for a few songs. Tatofi enjoyed the feeling of selling audience members with his heartfelt voice. At that moment, he knew he wanted to be just like his father. 

Tatofi is inspired by R&B singers, among them Luther Vandross and Peabo Bryson. Tatofi doesn’t write music in Hawaiian but is fluent in Tongan.
