Check out this rock group from the Great North with Islands tickets. Formed by Nicholas Thorburn and Jamie Thompson in 2005, Islands is an alt-rock group based out of Montreal, CAN. The duo formed the group following the disolvement of their group, The Unicorns in 2004. Since their debut, Islands has dropped eight studio albums, the most recent being Islomania in 2021.
The group’s debut album, Return to the Sea, was released in 2006 and featured guests that included members of Wolf Parade and Arcade Fire. Island embarked on their first headlining tour shortly after the album’s debut, playing clubs throughout the US and Canada. Pitchfork’s John Motley in a 2006 article on the new indie group, praised their debut project as a “gorgeous collection of pop songs.” Their following album, Arm’s Way would do even better and ended up on Billboard 200. It would land No. 10 on the Billboard US Heat chart, with one single off the album, “Creeper” gaining more than 500,000 plays on Spotify.
Following a dual release of Should I Remain Here, At Sea? and Taste in 2016, the band took a break and mainly was inactive until the release of the album, Islomania (2021). The indie group is expected to release another album in 2023 and has released a single “Life’s A Joke” to the joy of their fans. Generally speaking, Islands ticket prices cost more than $50 for most live performances. Tickets to see Islands play at music festivals like Lollapalooza can cost more than $100 for a standard general admission ticket. Premium seating at venues like the United Center can cost more than $275 a seat, while standard tickets for seats in the upper levels of the arena can cost less than $75 a ticket.
