The Palomino Festival originated as the Pasadena tent in the annual Stagecoach Festival in Indio, Calif., and was called a festival-within-a-festival. The Palomino tent was given that name in tribute to one of the most iconic and renowned country clubs in the world, the Palomino, which closed in 1995.
The Palomino tent showcased alt-country, Americana and heritage country artists, which appeal to a different demographic than the mainstream stages. Now, the promoter, Goldenvoice is establishing the Festival Palomino, dedicated to the appreciation of those overlooked and underappreciated artists. The event is being held at Brookside at the Rose Bowl.
See some of your favorite country artists with Festival Palomino tickets. Goldenvoice’s Stacy Vee, who was responsible for much of the lineups in the Pasadena tent, has taken lead in the artist selection and is excited to showcase these boundary-pushing performers in their own festival. Goldenvoice is a subsidiary of the Anschutz Entertainment Group and is the promoter for such festivals as the Stagecoach Festival and the Coachella Music and Arts Festival.
Kacey Musgraves, Willie Nelson & Family and Jason Isbell headlined the inaugural show. Old Crow Medicine Show, Turnpike Troubadours and Morgan Wade also took the stage at Festival Palomino.
