The Bavarian metal group hails was formed in 1993 in Dachsbach by father and son musicians Wolfgang Teske and Lille Gruber. Rounded out initially by session musicians, the band recorded their first EP of demos Devoured by the Black in 1996 and Withdrawn from Beauty in 1998.
The band signed with the UK label Grindethic Records in 2004 and hit the studio in Germany to record their debut album, Prelude to Tragedy, later that year. Following new lineup changes, the metal outfit released their sophomore effort, Psalms of Moribund, in 2007 and was praised for its grindcore influences and signature complex rhythms with popular songs like “Fatal Self Inflicted Disfigurement” and “Stoned Then Defiled”. After leaving their label the group was signed to Willowtip Records, known for their work with bands like Misery Index and Disavowed. They released their fan favorite 2013 album, Passages Into Deformity, on the label and have remained with them through 2020’s The Sanguinary Impetus.
