Their band was created in 2012 but their first debut studio album Pink was released in 2017. The four band members were in the same high school and they began performing covers of artists they enjoyed like Aiko. The name Chai originated from Russian tea and was inspired by Kana’s love for it. The band started touring around Tokyo indecently in 2013, their first large concert was held at Zepp Nagoya as they participated in a college band competition.

While Mana is the primary vocalist, the rest sign the background vocals as well as Mana plays the keyboards, Kana the guitar, and Yuna and Yuuki play the drums and the bass.
