Martinez was a founding member of Grupo Fantasma, which was the recipient of a Grammy Award. They also famously backed the artist Prince. He is also the frontman for the bands Brownout and Money Chicha, which have both received critical acclaim. Chavez is the frontman for Dos Santos, an experimental quintet based in Chicago. He has also worked with Grammy Award recipient Quetzal and Smithsonian Folkways.
