He spent his early 20s between his native Calgary and Nashville where he made connections that helped shape his first album, 2010’s Man with No Past.
He worked the record for two years, landing a minor country hit with “Little More Time” in 2011. His 2012 follow-up, If It Was That Easy, proved to be his breakthrough spinning off two top 10 country hits (“Show Some Respect” and “Somebody Will”). His rock-tinged sound, rooted in traditional country, crossed over to the Canadian pop charts with 2014’s “Crazy Enough” and “Never Didn’t Love You”, both top 20 country tunes that climbed into the 70s of the regular pop chart. He snagged more top 10 country hits in each of the next two years. In 2020 he released the single “Wash My Truck”, which landed him back on the Canadian country charts for the first time since 2017.
