Listen to a modern performer with Bellows tickets. Oliver Kolb performs under the stage name Bellows and began recording albums as Bellows while still attending university at Bard College. Kolb is a member of the musical collective The Epoch, which includes artists such as Told Slant and Small Wonder. Kalb’s first album, As If to Say I Hate Daylight, was released in 2011.
Kolb began working on the album in his bedroom where he lived in upstate New York in 2010. It was recorded using one microphone, utilizing the acoustics of Kolb’s house, particularly his wood flooring and having his friends participate as backup singers. The album’s concept is about being frozen to death and then being resuscitated when thawed.
Enjoy a musical performance with Bellows tickets. With Kolb’s second album, Blue Breath, Kolb expanded the scope of the project, utilizing five bedrooms again using his friends. Blue Breath was very favorably received by critics.
His third album, Fist & Palm, was released in 2016 and describes the end of a friendship. Tracks seven and 13 were created while Kolb was participating in a song-a-day project during the fall of 2014. Bellows released his fourth album, The Rose Gardner, in 2019. Next of Kin was released in 2022
