Fluttert was born in the city of Markelo and started making music at the age of 18 while attending Utrecht University. In 2014, he returned with the gospel-tinged single “Teach Me,” hitting Number 22 on the UK Singles Chart. Following the creation of the itinerant Bakermat’s Circus festival in 2015, Fluttert dropped the 2016 single “Games,” featuring vocalist Marie Plassard, and teamed up with British singer-songwriter Alex Clare for the track “Living,” released that same year. In subsequent years, he stuck to the single format with 2017’s “Baby” and “Don’t Want You Back,” which were followed by 2019’s “Baianá”, the first single from Bakermat’s studio debut, The Ringmaster (2020).
