Raneri formed the quartet in 1999 while attending Benjamin N. Cardozo High School in Bayside, a neighborhood in Queens, N.Y. The group consists of lead guitarist Jack O’Shea, bassist Nick Ghanbarian and drummer Chris Guglielmo. Bayside performs a mix of punk rock, emo and alternative rock music. In addition to performing with Bayside, Raneri also has a successful solo career. He is well-known for the demo version he released, “The Ballad of Bill the Saint” in 2009. The demo was recorded in Chris Kirkpatrick’s home studio. Kirkpatrick is well known as a former member of the pop boy band, NSYNC.
Raneri recorded the remainder of his debut, solo EP, Sandra Partial on December 13, 2011, in Los Angeles, Calif. Raneri announced RXBandits’ Steve Choi and My Chemical Romance’s Jarrod Alexander as part of his backing band. The musicians were also collaborators on several of the tracks. Following the release of his EP, Raneri embarked on his Where’s the Band? Tour in January 2012. Raneri’s equally successful sophomore EP, Sorry State of Mind released on June 30, 2015.
