However, the commercial success of his career would finally arrive in 1982, with the album Cavalo de Pau, which made waves with smash-hit songs “Tropicana” and “Como Dois Animals.” Over his career, Valenca has recorded over 20 albums, all of which bring to life his innovative recreation of northeastern Brazilian music that has garnered him a robust fan base worldwide.
