He released the album under the name Alejandro Magno, Spanish for “Alexander the Great.” The techno and flamenco-inspired album were met with indifference from critics, which caused him to take a short break from music. A few years later, Sanz signed with Warner Music Latina using his current stage name. His first album with Warner, Viviendo Deprisa, was released in 1991 and helped launch his successful music career.
Since Viviendo Deprisa, he has released over 10 other albums. He is best known for his romantic ballads. However, his music has transformed throughout his career.
