Get your Drumline Live! tickets now and witness art-in-motion. The international tour, Drumline Live! carries on the marching band traditions of Historically Black College and Universities (HBCU). Don P. Roberts created the tour in 2009 as a theatrical production. Roberts has been the Executive Band Consultant for the popular films, Drumline (2002) and VH1’s Drumline: The New Beat (2014). Roberts has also served as the president, CEO, director, playwright and creator of the live tour, taking the show around the nation and overseas to Japan and Korea. The band was involved in several projects, including the 2017 BET television series The Quad, Beyonce’s Homecoming: A Film in 2019, Ciara’s “Dose” (2019) and J. Cole’s 2019 track “Middle Child”.
The event consists of more than 30 trained musicians, dancers, actors and singers that make up the Drumline Live! ensemble. Band members play a variety of instruments during the shows, such as drums/percussion, saxophones, trumpets and F-horns. Dancers come alive before the audiences’ eyes with their energized performances, tantalizing costumes and complex choreography. As a collective, they explode into action with their musical precision along with their environment-filled with stage effects and dramatic lighting that leaves its attendees in awe of their theatrical prowess. They do not limit their musical presentation to one genre and have performed melodies from hip-hop, gospel, jazz and R&B. Come get your Drumline Live! tickets and get swept away by the sounds of the band. To support music education across the nation, the band partners with Drum Corps. International (DCI) to offer an annual drumline battle. The battle draws in marching bands from around the nation to compete against other bands for the opportunity to perform as the DCI or Drumline Live’s opening act.
