Although Angelique Kidjo came up with the concept, Yemandja was actually written by her daughter Naima Hebrail Kidjo.
The show is directed by Cheryl Lynn Bruce and is produced by The Office performing arts + film. Kerry James Marshall was the visual designer for the show. Kidjo will play a character who was given the gift of song by the gods to help change the course of history.
