Their first performance took place at the Fox Theatre in Boulder, CO, where they opened for another alternative group.

About a year after their formation, the group released their debut album, Elevation, under the indie label Frog Pad Records. Over the next few years, they began touring regularly and performed in the music festival Nedfest located in their hometown of Nederland. They began to develop a fanbase in the jam band and bluegrass community.

The group released four more albums in the years to come and they continue to tour across the United States each year. Their self-titled album, released in 2006, took the #1 spot on the US Grass charts that year.
