The Sioux City Bandits were established in 2000, as the Sioux City Attack and first played in the Southern Division of the Western Conference in the Indoor Football League. A year later, they moved to the National Indoor Football League and stayed there for three seasons before again relocating to the United Indoor Football League. From 2009-to 2014, they switched leagues three more times before finally settling in the CIF in 2015.
