The first Ring of Combat event was held in Uncasville, Conn., on October 12, 2002, with seven fights on the card. Lou Neglia, former world champion kickboxer and founder of the promotion determined that New Jersey was the best locale for the fledgling promotion and worked tirelessly to bring it to the Garden State.
