All the past and current members of the group engage in their own solo careers, with members that are available at the time joining in on live tours to “jam.” Perpetual Groove’s non-rotating members are Brock Butler, Adam Perry, Matt McDonald and Albert Suttle.

The band was formed in 1997 after the members met at an open-mic at their local art school. They gained their first serious attention after delivering an impressive improvised performance at J.J. Cagney’s in Savannah. Perpetual Groove’s interactive, audience-focused shows drew large crowds. Such success saw them do their first national tour in 2003. They became known for their commitment to their fans and live tours, and quickly amassed a dedicated following.

The band was fortunate to have the help of lighting designer Jason Huffer and earned rave reviews for their experimental use of various cutting-edge lighting techniques.
