This college is the largest at UTEP and features a variety of departments from theater, to linguistics, and music. The UTEP Wind Symphony is one of the many musical ensembles offered in the UTEP Department of Music. It is a classic wind symphony, comprised of all the instruments one would normally hear in a symphony orchestra, but without the string instruments. Students audition to be part of the UTEP Wind Symphony, and it represents the university’s best instrumental music talent. Performing for their fellow students, staff and the community, this ensemble performs six concerts each year. The UTEP Wind Symphony has also been chosen to premiere many new works for wind bands and has performed at the Texas Music Educators Association convention and the College Band Directors National Association convention.
