Cellar Darling began playing live towards the end of 2016 with appearances in Switzerland and Holland supporting well-known folk metal bands Amorphis and The Gentle Storm. Almost exactly a year after the split with Eluveitie the band released their debut album 'This Is the Sound' and received a very positive reaction from the specialist music press with the band being lauded as 'the new sound of Switzerland'.
