The band followed that album in 2000 with The Harsh Light of Day, which hit Number 97 on the Billboard 200.
In 2002, Hollywood Records released the compilation album Painting the Corners: The Best of Fastball, their final release for the label. The trio released the limited edition Live from Jupiter Records in 2003. Fastball then signed with Rykodisc for their 2004 release Keep Your Wig On. It took another five years before they issued their fifth album, Little White Lies, on MRI Records. After an eight-year break, the trio returned with Step into Light in 2017.
