Since this event is considered an alternate one, the points earned are lower than normal and there is no automatic qualification to compete in the Masters Tournament. From 2022 and forward, The Barbasol Championship will now be a coordinated alternate competition with the Genesis Scottish Open on the PGA European Tour.
