Stapp released a popular solo album, 2005's The Great Divide, during Creed's five-year breakup, and resumed his solo career with 2013's Proof of Life and 2019's The Space Between the Shadows. Meanwhile, he also joined the hard-rock supergroup Art of Anarchy in 2016, replacing the late Scott Weiland as the band's frontman and co-writing all 10 tracks on the band's 2017 album, The Madness.
