The Urge was originally formed in 1987 by Jeff Herschel, Karl Grable, and Pat Malecek. Then, Steve Ewing joined the bunch after going through to singers prior. They regrouped in 2011 and have been touring ever since. In 2018 they partnered with the St. Louis Blues to create their new goal song titled "The Blues Have the Urge."
