The Cape Catfish is an amateur summer baseball team from Cape Girardeau, Mo., that competes within the Prospect League. The Catfish were founded in 2018 by Mark Hogan, who previously enjoyed success coaching the baseball team from Southeast Missouri State University. Hogan now serves as the Catfish’s general manager, leading the team out of Cape Girardeau’s Capaha Field. The team takes its name from the state fish of Missouri, and their team colors are green, blue and yellow.

The Catfish enjoyed significant success in the Prospect League right from the start, finishing their inaugural season with an impressive 43-17 record. They would go on to rank first in both the league and the division, claiming the West Division championship title at the end of the post-season.
