Owned by the Lake Erie Productions group and operated by A.J. Moore, the speedway involves four nine-degree turns spread over roughly a quarter of a mile.
The Lake Erie Speedway opened in Erie County, PA in 2002, and for much of its history served as a track on the NASCAR Whelen All-American Series. Until 2013, the race track held weekly Legends, Street Stocks, Bandoleros, Compacts and Modifieds events. The speedway has since separated from NASCAR in order to host unsanctioned special event races.
During its tenure with the NASCAR organization, the Lake Erie Speedway served as a racing site for several prominent automobile racing events including the NASCAR Winston Modified Tour, NASCAR Busch East/North Series, ASA National Tour and CARS Hooters Pro Cup Series. The speedway has thus seen a slew of world-class racers perform at the venue, such as division champions Steve Sunday, Chris Bailey Jr. and Dave McAvoy.
