The band signed with Signature Sounds in 2013 and recorded their first studio album Poor Old Shine in Parsonsfield, Maine, which they named the band after. They also hired Erik Hischmann, the session drummer, to join the band. 

Parsonsfield released the EP Afterparty covering songs from John Hurt and Huey Lewis and the News in addition to traditional songs. Their sophomore full-length album Blooming Through the Black dropped in 2016.  e, the band’s second EP, came out in 2018 after they wrote an original score for the 1922 documentary Nanook of the North.
