Kasher was a founding member of the group Slowdown Virginia in 1993, along with Matt Maginn, Steve Pederson and Casey Carniglia after the dissolving of his previous band The March Hares. The sound of the band was reminiscent of bands such as Pavement and the Pixies. The group’s debut album, Dead Space, was released before the band broke up in 1995.
